Schenker Arkas builds a ‘bridge’ through the sky

Schenker Arkas, which remains the number one company in Turkish airfreight, is preparing to build a bridge through the sky. A new project called SKYBRIDGE offers an alternative for transporting cargo with tonnage or even lighter shipments.
Schenker Arkas, which has been offering integrated logistics services in Turkey since 1995, once again managed to retain its first-place position in airfreight exports in 2005. The company ranked first in Turkey with 11,224 shipments and is now building a bridge in the sky by combining sea and air transport. More attractive pricing and scheduling are available with the SKYBRIDGE project, which is offered in conjunction with BAX Global, Schenker’s agency in Dubai. This service is an important alternative for shipments with tonnage or weighing less than a ton, with transfers provided in Dubai for Far East shipments and in Vancouver for North American shipments.
Increased demand results in new ports of call
This service was added to generate a fast, economical solution for increased trade volume and can transport all kinds of partial shipments except for goods that can spoil en route. Shipments are transported to the transfer port in an average of 14 days and then shipped to Izmir or Istanbul via alternative airlines. Total transit time averages 17-19 days. This service was initially provided from the ports of Hong Kong and Shanghai, but goods can also be imported from other Chinese ports based on customer requests.
