An important industrial fair was hosted by Izmit, a city which has become a focal point for logistics in the Marmara region because of the increased industrial activity resulting from the opening of new ports. Schenker Arkas was the main sponsor at the 4th Izmit Industry and Logistics Expo, which was held on November 21-25, 2007.

The expo was well attended by participants from Turkey and other countries as well logistics students from many high schools and universities. Schenker Arkas had an opportunity to be on-site with a sales team to promote its logistics services including sea, land, project transport, fair/expo transport, customs clearance on the fairgrounds and rail transport as well as pre- and post-shipping services in Turkey. In addition to being able to provide immediate answers to requests for logistics from visitors to the expo, Schenker was able to increase its brand recognition in the region and provide preliminary information about the Orhanlı Logistics Center, which is slated to open in 2008. In addition to the main events, Schenker Arkas Logistics Services Director Alper Dinsel held a conference entitled Supply Chain Management and Applications in which he provided visitors with information about the history of the concept of logistics, development of the sector, the market structure and current supply chain management methods. Schenker Arkas operates 9 offices with 350 trained employees who offer air, sea and overland transport as well as comprehensive logistics solutions and global supply chain management.
